Fun and relaxed Caledon Family Portrait

I had the pleasure of photographing the Masulka family from Caledon last week. The brothers pretty much grew up in this beautiful play ground in the Forks of the Credit. It is always fun watching the kids run around and being kids. One of the advantages to operating from 2 locations is that we can better serve our clients, we will be seeing one of the brothers from Huntsville at our North studio as we often see our cottage clients at our Caledon studio.

Growing young family

We have been photographing the D’Onofrio family for many years. First was Simone and Jason’s wedding, then her sisters then the family, then their first family portrait and now an update with their second son. Cameron, the oldest likes coming into our studio, especially knowing that we have a treasure chest of toys and goodies for him to choose from once we are done. I had a great time photographing this young family again and it is so very cool being trusted to document these stages.

Caledon Country Golf Club Wedding

It was a beautiful day for a country wedding.  Depsite the incredible temperatures, we manages to complete the photos and head into the reception just before the heavens opened with thunder and lightning…Rina and the girls, all dressed in traditional colours looked amazing, Jp and his friends from France, all being musicians played live music for their guests and sounded great. Congratulations and best wishes for a long future together.

Family reunion at Red Leaves Resort on Lake Rosseau in Muskoka

50th anniversaries are perfect opportunities for families to re unite. Here we photographed the entire group including the individual families in beautiful Muskoka. The families were from as far as Texas, the kids were absolute joys and so good to work with. We spent 2 hours with this beautiful family and once I found this gorgeous setting, the only way to get the right perspective was to get in the water, so off with my shoes where I spent the last hour photographing, it was warm yet refreshing. Then on our departure we found this deer on the resort property having his or her own dinner.  Thanks for the chance to document your family and congratulations.

Cottage Portrait on Lake Kushog

Joanna and John have been planning to celebrate their 10th  anniversary by renewing their wedding vows and celebrating with family. This was a perfect opportunity to renew and update their family portrait at their cottage where they have so many beautiful memories. The weather had been unsettled however the rain held off just until the ceremony was over. The ceremony was beautiful, romantic and very intimate, it was such a pleasure for us to be part of their day and helping preserve this milestone for them and their family. They then headed to the Oakview Lodge for an amazing reception. Congratulations, Joanna and John, wishing you many happy years ahead.

Rewarding comments

We love receiving nice comments, often the stress we experience during weddings is not quite understood. Although weddings can be a lot of fun and the images reflect the romance and all the hard work that went into planning, most don’t see nor understand the backroom work that goes into telling these beautiful stories. The following is a letter I received from the mother of the groom from a recent wedding…

“Dear Jose:
I wanted to send you a note to thank you once again for taking such incredible photography for Katie’s and Michael’s wedding and for being such a good friend to all of us.
I know that both Katie and Michael appreciate all that you did to make their day so special. You went beyond our expectations as our friend and as a wonderful photographer.
We also wanted to thank you for your kindness in preparing the photos at such short notice for Katie’s father’s funeral. It has been extremely difficult these last few months for our families and you have been so kind and understanding. The stress had taken it’s toll on me with the passing of my sister and I know I was not myself, however you were a wonderful friend by being patient with me. I will always be grateful for your kindness, Joe.
I know that Katie will send you a note to express her gratitude for the beautiful album. We will cherish the memories of their wedding day through your eyes and photography.
Love always, Connie and Gary and family xoxoxox”

family portrait updated

We had the wonderful pleasure of recapturing the Snell family again, it had been almost 15 years since their previous session so you can imagine how small the teenagers were then. The session was a lot of fun, especially since we knew everyone. Lisa did a great job coordinating everyone for added harmony. I know the kids wouldn’t remember us from the first portrait but they were all great. The weather was calling for rain and thunder but we lucked out and finished just before the big down pour. It was great having my good friend Wayne Braiden help me with the session, and no surprise he was his usual funny guy who happened to be cousins to the family. Congratulations to Joe and Ruth Snell on your 50th milestone.

We also captured each separate family, this one is of Lisa and Ken Snell, owners of Insta Plus Printing in Orangeville.

Family portrait updated

We have been photographing the Pucci family and children since Francseco was just months old. Every few years this young family comes in for an update. It has been a great pleasure watching them grow from little tykes to young adults. Kiara was always beautiful and with such a nice personality. I will never forget when she was around 6years old, they came into the studio full of excitement and smiles and gave me her bag of skittles as a little gift. They now seem so grown up, mature and beautiful. It is always a pleasure working with families like the Pucci’s.

Award winning photography

Although I earned my Masters of Photographic Arts back in 2002 and have since earned 4 Masters bars, back in February, PPO Ontario  held their annual image salon competition in Thunderbay. Below are my award winning entries. This is an important way to have your work judged by a panel of Master photographers from around Ontario, not only does it help me stay on top of styles and trends, it is most rewarding for our clients too when their images win these coveted award.
