Moose on the loose

In mid May two photo colleagues (Brad and David) and I decided to take the scenic route to our National convention in Mont Tremblant, on their way to pick me up at my north office they encountered a cub bear, and a fawn. Shortly after entering Algonquin Park, we noticed moose, we started keeping our eyes open for wild life and came across this poser of a moose. He was not far from another bull which was much more timid. This guys seemed to love people and the camera.

Open Road 2010

Recently I had the rare opportunity of going on a 10 day (3000km) motorcycle journey through southwestern USA with 8 boys. It was an amazing experience, the scenery was breath taking and the weather also fabulous.  I appreciated the opportunity of adding to my stock image library. Its amazing how quickly complete stranger can become friends, and wonderful that some clients also became friends. Thanks for letting me room with you Ken, you don’t snore so bad :-) Quite sad though along the Mexico boarder with the constant patrol activity going on there.  Some of what I saw makes you really appreciate what we have here in Canada ;-) here is a link of our trip. open road

On the way back from teh Nobs Inferno conference in Nashville, Brad Kelly and I stopped in downtown Nashville for a short visit of Music city, with no tripod I had to stabilize the camera on a ledge. Had a great time, saw soem new things and cool ideas and caught a cold. All back to normal now.

Three Photographers get together in Lindsay, Ontario

I had the fortunate chance to catch up with a couple of good friends and colleagues in Lindsay recently. I first joined up with James and his lovely wife Jocelyn  hodginsphotography with whom I have ridden many miles together on our two wheels. Then we hooked up with Mark and his wife Chantal ridoutphotography and went for a fantastic dinner where we shared, caught up and discussed some plans for our next day of shooting for fun and trying to capture some new bio pics for ourselves. These are two very fine and quirky minded individuals so we always have a blsat. James is on a rant about using bad  assistants, so a warning goes out to anyone visiting his blog. Thanks for the great time guys…and dolls. You are a true inspiration.

Meet baby Ela

One of the greatest rewards for me is having wedding clients come in later with their little ones. And then having the opportunity to both photograph them and watch them grow. I had the pleasure of meeting Ela last week, she is an absolute sweetheart and ham for the camera.

Smart and cute, She takes after her mother.

On my fathers 25 year old Zundapp

My father baught this 50 cc bike over 25 years ago. I started polishing it, decided to add a little gas and at first kick start wow it STARTED!

While I miss my bike, I had the fortunate chance to get this old bike going, so while my good friend James and Joc Hodgins are on their road trip to the east coast of Canada (check it out at http://www.hodginsphotography.com/2wheelstoeastcoast/) I don’t totally miss my ride. Funny, we are both on the Atlantic coast him at the east and I at the west side or is it the other way around? If we could only shout across the pond!

Have a great ride brotha Hodgy!

Portugal

Small town in Portugal close to where I am staying.

May have booked a few jobs for next summer.

The town’s church bells chime every half hour…I always know what time it is.

I will try to post tomorrow.
