Cottage portraits on Gull Lake

We have been so extremely busy photographing many families at their cottages, some are almost permanent living homes and some are wonderful weekend retreats. We can feel how relaxed most people are when at their cottages. Cottage portraits are more than just fun, they allow us to keep some of our best memories close to heart, having an artistic  portrait in your home of your cottage lifestyle adds warmth to your ambiance and helps create a relaxed and soothing feeling in our home. It laso helps us remember teh great times cottage life brings us. Thanks to the Bailey family for allowing us into your cottage and helping preserve these times for our future.

Another beautiful day for the Kirkoff family

We last photographed this beatiful young family 3 years ago as part of a larger group portrait which had been planned as a surprise for mom. This portrait was a huge success and so well received that we made a studio sample which we still use today. Julie and Bruno have since been blessed with a beautiful daughter. This was so much fun for us, meeting this little wonder and observing the relationship between her and her older brother Mitchel who is simply crazy about her. Julie tells me that she had began asking why she wasn’t in their original portrait which stunningly welcomes everyone in as soon as you enter their home. Now she too will be up on the wall.

The Bax family reunion

Family reunions are a lot of fun, a chance to reunite with the entire family and see the little ones grow and develop into their own personalities. We have been photographing some of the Bax families for many years from weddings to individual family portraits to their business needs so it was a natural progression and wonderful opportunity for us to capture the entire clan together, thanks for the chance to preserve this lifetime moment for your family.

Young family portraits are precious

So many people put this important time to have their family portrait taken on hold and then they turn around and the kids are going off to college. But not here, this young family was not just photographed at such a precious time but their portrait will preserve this amazing stage for ever and in a fun and real way. We will often take a few structured images and then let the family be themselves, especially since many young children will only give you 10 to 15 minutes of attention before they go back to their own world.

Orangeville Family Portrait

We had photographed Daureen about 10 years ago with her horse and it was nice to see this beautiful art canvas on their wall. Now that the oldest son Ben is going off to University in the US of A it was the perfect time to update their family portrait. We spent about 2 hours exploring the vast opportunities of this beautiful and natural property. Thank you for the chance to capture your family at such a great time in your lives.

Prom time

You gotta love proms, seeing these young adults dressed to the nines and looking so optomistically towrds their bright futures is amazing. The sessions are fun, modern and a true opportunity to capture forever a transition into their next chapter in life. I actually suggest booking your prom sessions just after the actul prom, two great reasons are taht you get to wear your outfits gain and actually not be so concerned with getting dirty so we can be creative and try different styles.

family portraits are also a time to reunite

Just before my Arizona bike trip we had the opportunity to create a beautiful portrait of the Sharpe family. Although taken at our outdoor Caledon location, most of the family are from the Peterborough area. The weather cooperated and we were able to shoot outdoors for a fun, relaxed look. Outdoor portraits allow us much more variety in composition and natural settings. This was a wonderful way to reunite as a family and help celebrate grandma’s 80 birthday. Happy Birthday
